1930's semi ground floor extension

Brief

To maximise the potential for a ground floor rear extension

What we did

Our design made changes to the existing architect drawings. We created a larger utility with separate pods for laundry, storage and the dog. The kitchen was opened up to create a more sociable island with large pantry and wine storage hidden away. Making changes to the glazing plan meant we were able to incorporate access to the garden with a separate window seat in the dining area. The space was finished off with a separate family seating area, incorporating the pillar required for structural integrity. The look and feel brought in the client's love of a palette of blues, greens and yellow.

"I cannot recommend Beth and Jon at Fresh Start highly enough. They have made what could have been an extremely stressful, complicated project both stress free and exciting. From our initial Zoom meeting I had a strong feeling they were exactly what we needed. My husband and I are busy people, both working and studying at the moment, whilst also managing 3 small children and a dog. We knew we didn’t have the time, or let’s be honest the imaginations to come up with the right design for our rear ground floor extension.

From our first meeting I felt they asked all the right questions to get from us what we wanted from the project and our new space. They have been transparent about their fees and I believe have gone above and beyond for us, always answering questions in a timely manner, sourcing items and coming up with alternatives.

They have helped us to make bold choices that we are excited about and confident with, something I know we would have struggled with if left to our own devices. The level of attention to detail has been exceptional, with careful consideration of the smaller details given the same importance as some of the bigger decisions.

We have loved working with them so much that we have already commissioned them to do another room in our house. And hope to use them again when tackling upstairs..!

I have been verbally recommending them to friends and family that are contemplating doing any work on their house as the time and money (and arguments!) they have saved us has been invaluable."
